Book lovers always keep an eye on important dates related to literature, such as International Book Day, which takes place on April 13th, and National Reading Day, celebrated on October 12th.

Not to mention the Book Biennials, which take place in several Brazilian cities, the most famous of which are Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, and the regional Book Fairs in each state.

So, it becomes the perfect opportunity to gift yourself – or someone else – with your favorite title. Now, how about checking out the trending books that are popular among the reading public?

Red, White and Blue Blood – Casey McQuiston

The book got a movie on Amazon Prime and is trending. The story revolves around two boys, the son of the President of the United States and the Prince of England. The two end up falling in love and the mystery remains as to how this will all be resolved.

Casey Mcquiston created an incredible world for young teenage audiences and became one of the most read in LGBTQIA+ literature.

This is how it starts – Colleen Hoover

One of Grupo Record's best-selling authors, Colleen Hoover specializes in drama and has won over her readers with several stories. “That’s How It Begins” is the continuation, volume 2, of “That’s How It Ends”. So, only buy it as a gift if your friend has already read the first book.

Now, the plot is organized around Lily and Atlas, characters that the public rooted for in the first volume.

The Midnight Library – Matt Haig

Despite the title, the story is a romance that takes place in a library and has Nora Seed as the protagonist. The book also has a science fiction touch, as the character can go back in time and try to change some decisions she made when she was younger.

Matt Haig, the author, is a best seller international with several other titles, including an autobiographical called “Reasons to continue alive”.

Liars – E. Lockhart

The TikTok hit is a thriller that portrays the Sinclair family. Rich and renowned, its members refuse to admit that they are bankrupt and continue living their lives as if nothing had happened.

The objective of this work is to unravel the entire mystery, and how the family gets involved in a web of lies in order not to lose their status. Author E. Lockhart originally published the book in 2014, but it was only in 2021 that it became a best seller.

Daisy Jones and The Six: A Story of Love and Music – Taylor Jenkins Reid

The book gained more prominence after the series was released on Amazon Prime. Despite having some changes on TV, many people were enchanted by the plot and went after the title.

It's a story for those who like music, as it tells what happened to Daisy and her rock band. The author, Taylor Jenkins Reid, is also known in Brazil for “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo”.

This is how it ends – Colleen Hoover

As Colleen Hoover never leaves the bestseller list, it is only fair to bring one more of her titles. “This Is How It Ends” is one of his most famous books and, if you want a more complete gift, it’s worth thinking about sending this one and “This Is How It Begins”.

The story discusses very important topics, such as psychological abuse and domestic violence, and is one of the most talked about and publicized on TikTok. In this first volume, the author introduces Lily, her protagonist, and Ryle, an arrogant and stubborn neurosurgeon who is interested in her, but is anything but a good guy.
