In this post I share with you some of my experience in learning a foreign language and therefore I would like to offer you some ideas to improve.
Learning foreign languages as a way of life.
Hello everyone and welcome! I'm Alisson and I'm Brazilian, this is the first blog post I write.
many ask me about the importance of learning foreign languages: How to learn a foreign language quickly? Is the knowledge of English enough to go abroad?
The power of motivation
Why do you want to learn a foreign language? This is a very simple question, but very important!
Learning a foreign language just because you have to (emigrating to another country, using the language at work) is not enough.
Because? Because doing something out of “necessity” also means having the feeling of being forced to do it. With this attitude, it is clear that we cannot achieve good results in the long term.
If you have not chosen to study a foreign language, the best way to find motivation is to learn the language in a context of pleasure. Did you like football? But literature? Whatever your hobby, using the foreign language in the context you enjoy is sure to give you the right motivation.
Language is a constantly evolving branch that reflects on the evolution of society. In all languages, new words are added to the dictionary while other words are excluded because they are not used. Of course, there is always something to learn. We must therefore consider language learning as a journey, a lifestyle and not as a “school subject”.
The learning process must be enjoyable
Today there are many resources and ways to learn. If you are stuck or unmotivated in language learning, the first thing to do is break the old learning routine and try a new method.
In fact, to learn and communicate in a foreign language, there is no need to do boring grammar exercises!
Don't be afraid to make mistakes and talk, talk a lot.
Do not be afraid to make mistakes. You have to have a lot of patience. Many students have stopped communicating in a foreign language because they are afraid of making mistakes. Know that making mistakes is a step in the learning process, in the world of language learning it doesn't work the same in the rest where it seems that making mistakes is something horrible that should never happen. Regarding learning a new language with each mistake we can learn much more, there is a saying that says “In every mistake there is a potential for grout” In every mistake there is potential for growth. So for you to succeed in reaching your goals of speaking a new language you need to expose yourself and make mistakes without fear.
What is the difference between those who are successful and those who are not? successful people learn from their mistakes and follow those lessons, always improve and that's what you want isn't it? While people who are not successful keep doing the same things or doing absolutely nothing to change.
The wonder of a trip is exactly the way we go and that's why we can go wrong sometimes and the trip doesn't become bad so our life and our changes for the better are related to the possibility of making mistakes and fixing and of course it is a smart attitude to use this to our advantage and not be afraid. To be honest, there would be no learning without mistakes.
And last tip: talk, talk, talk. We should try to talk as much as possible!
A big hug to all and good studies.
